As DXtera Institute’s System Architect, Tom is leading the design of DXtera’s Integration Framework. A solver of tough integration problems, Tom brings to DXtera 13 years of experience in domain modeling, interface design and applying services methodologies necessary to build flexible system created to evolve with technology and the changing business needs of higher education.
Tom currently serves as Lead Architect for the Open Service Interface Definitions (OSIDs) and Lead Services Architect/Team Lead for Boston College EagleApps (formerly Kuali Student). He has worked with MIT’s Open Knowledge Initiative (O.K.I.), California State University Digital Marketplace Project, and the Open University of Catalonia eLearn Center.
Tom has presented to academic audiences at numerous international conferences including IMS Global, EDEN (European Distance & E-Learning Network), University Campus Barcelona, Jasig, and Kuali Days as well as led numerous design workshops and co-authored “Next Generation Learning Architecture.”
