About Us

In close collaboration with our members, DXtera provides solutions, technical services, and community support in the areas of next-generation education systems, data management, and integration solutions.

Our Mission

To transform the way higher education does business and drive student success by providing efficient access to information.

Who We Are

DXtera Institute is a non-profit, collaborative member-based consortium dedicated to transforming student and institutional outcomes in higher education. With over 180 members, DXtera develops open-source technology solutions that remove barriers to creating, exchanging, and optimizing data across disparate educational systems and applications. The organization specializes in data management, CampusAPI solutions and integration frameworks that help institutions leverage information from legacy and modern campus systems, including SIS, LMS, and various ERP environments. Built on comprehensive operational domain models, DXtera’s solutions align data across campus systems and external third-party applications and reporting agencies.  Guided by principles of user engagement and equitable data access, DXtera ensures all institutions—regardless of resources—can access their data to optimize business decisions and enhance student success. Through community-inspired projects, DXtera strives to shorten the distance to interoperability and increased innovation in educational technology.

Our college found the perfect partnership with DXtera Institute at a time when we were rebuilding our data infrastructure and data governance structure. Extremely knowledgeable, patient, organized, and detail driven, this truly was a partnership in every sense of the word, and we’re thrilled at the results we’re seeing.”

Jeff Van Dreason, Dean of Institutional Assessment, Roxbury Community College
