MyCareerAgent

Increasing clarity, confidence, and control for women shaping their careers

Vision:  MyCareerAgent is a personalized career management platform designed to elevate women’s advancement by strengthening career agency. It makes pathways transparent, validates readiness through evidence, and converts ambition into actionable plans. By integrating experience, skills, interests, and opportunities into a dynamic planning system, MyCareerAgent reduces reliance on informal networks and guesswork. The result is greater clarity, confidence, and control—empowering women to navigate non-linear careers, lifelong learning, pursue advancement, and achieve sustained success in an evolving workforce.

Description MyCareerAgent operationalizes four core components of career agency at scale: Forethought (visualizing realistic career goals and pathways), Intentionality (translating goals into actionable plans), Self-Regulation (managing effort, persistence, and tradeoffs over time), and Self-Efficacy (building confidence through evidence of progress and readiness).  The following image depicts the concept that we will be exploring collectively.

The platform is anchored by three integrated components. The Baseball Card (utilizing existing components to create a learner owned wallet/record) provides a living snapshot of an individual’s education, work history, credentials, and demonstrated competencies—grounding career decisions in evidence. The Navigator (Generative AI) aligns knowledge, skills, interests, and attributes to multiple viable career pathways, contextualizing each by effort, time, and skill gaps. The CareerAgent (Agentic AI) transforms selected pathways into a sequenced, time-based plan with recommended resources, milestones, and opportunities for adjustment.  Our efforts will originally focus in the sectors of education and cybersecurity to support learned to higher levels of career success in those fields.

Together, these components move beyond static career information to deliver dynamic, individualized guidance—empowering individuals to actively manage their careers and progress with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Collaboration:  This collaborative project emerged from a shared interest of EdTech for Learning, DXtera and Crocus to align existing expertise and solutions into an open source solution that can leverage the capabilities of AI in an effective tool to address market needs.  This effort is focused on the development of a platform that meets the needs of learners across their lifetime and institutions of higher education that support them in that journey.

The collaborators are excited to be collaborating with participating colleges and universities to develop this concept to meet the needs that they are seeing and those of their learners.  This concept was advanced with input from collaborators at Marshall University (Huntington, WV, USA), Worcester State University (Worcester, MA, USA) and Prince Sultan University (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). Beyond these universities being directly engaged with the product development and testing, they will be involved with the research and evaluation of the evolving platforms utilization and efficacy.  They will also support international exchange and collaboration in developing best practices to deliver and support education with advancing technology.

We will be launching a community of practice (COP) to enable other interested colleges and universities to be engaged with and improve the development of this collective solution.  The COP is intended to meet on a monthly basis to share, learn and advise on collective action.  If you are interested in participating in this COP please contact lauren@dxtera.org.
