Grant funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop tools that support greater interoperability among higher education data systems.
BOSTON, MA. — DATE — DXtera today announced that it received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to fund additional efforts for automated and interoperable Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) data submission.
The PDP is a nationwide collaborative data platform, hosted by the National Student Clearinghouse, that helps colleges and universities gain a fuller picture of student progress and outcomes, meet various reporting requirements, including to educational partners, and identify where to focus their resources.
This 1-year grant to DXtera will support the expansion of their efforts to develop and support the utilization of an automated approach to file assembly for PDP data submission for institutions across the country. This approach will significantly inform institutional efforts to increase student success by expanding the use of the PDP automation tool and related best practices guidance while substantially reducing the work required by institutions to prepare the requisite PDP files.
“We are thrilled to be extending our collaboration with the Gates Foundation to collaboratively work with the experts at the institutions and the National Student Clearinghouse to create a more efficient PDP submission process. This effort will lead to an improved open source solution, processes, and deployment capabilities available to support all institutions engaged with the PDP.” says Dale Allen, PhD., co-founder and president of DXtera.
The activities to be completed during this process will include deploying mechanisms to enhance communications and models, in concert with the National Student Clearinghouse, to avert delays and increase data governance and trust of the tools. This will be enabled by implementing improved processes developed by decreasing the friction and time to adoption with an improved onboarding process supported by an administrative dashboard.
