To enable the envisioned SDGs for the Future of Work to be delivered, Artificial Intelligence needs to be optimized and Inclusion must be prioritized to enable the economic vibrancy of individuals and communities around the world to be achieved. To achieve this we need infrastructure to be developed that is beyond the self-interest of those providing products and developed through collective action and policies. A growing collective of international colleagues, organizations, and governing entities have been sharing innovative thinking to develop common solutions to this challenge through the Next Generation By Design (NGBD) Series.
In the education and workforce sectors, the market challenge to draw relationships between learning outcomes, competencies, certificates, job skills, labor market requirements, or degrees is present for all of us and is a failure that prevents the optimization of products (in particular AI), and for the future of work. An emerging vision to enable the learner or consumer to not only exchange desired data amongst numerous entities, but to also allow relationships to be drawn between many existing taxonomies for use by the consumer is demanded – Comparative Taxonomy management.
Our presenters are involved in developing, deploying or scaling an innovative approach to address this market failure through examples from four countries in the education, workforce and sustainable development sectors. Participants will be engaged in the next phase of development and shared actions to continue to shift the market to enable the Next Generation to be developed and deployed.
The NGBD Symposium is an annual event that brings together education industry leaders and practitioners who are actively designing, developing, deploying and promoting next generation software and systems to more effectively support student success.
