Announcement of Collaboration Between DXtera and Riiid Labs

DXtera & Riiid Labs Collaborate on AI Tool Development in Education

Boston, MA –March 18, 2021 — DXTERA INSTITUTE and Riiid Labs are pleased to announce a long-term collaboration  that will accelerate the development of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in education. This partnership aims to address the inequities that are present in education. Jointly, DXtera and Riiid Labs will be supporting artificial intelligence in education challenges throughout the next five years, the first activity being the inaugural Riiid AIED challenge with $100,000 prize money which attracted more than 3,400 participating teams from 100 different countries around the world.

DXtera and Riiid Labs will be leading a growing AI ED Alliance.  One of the target areas of the Alliance will include  collaboratively developing infrastructure and data simulation capabilities that would enable education organizations to share anonymized data with a growing number of open data sets. Data is very scarce in the education sector as the industry was majorly off-line with lack of tech-DNA. These open data sets will be available to train the algorithms needed to support next generation AI and machine learning tools. In addition, the entities are seeking to establish an innovation and research center (with additional supporters) focused on supporting the development and scaling of transformative infrastructure, solutions and tools.

This advancement in technology will remove barriers to the use of high quality data to accelerate improvements in learning and strengthen data-driven decisions by educational institutions.

This collaboration will be a catalyst to accelerate the growth of the AI-Ed industry and tackle the most pressing problems in education for a better learning experience for all.
